Estonia – National Research

“The free movement has become very common and the concept of borders has in many cases blurred for the young EU citizens. The young people move, and while moving, most of them depend on the information received through their own social networks, mainly from friends, but also from social media and expat communities. Some official and up-to-date information, however, is still lacking in some cases, for example for the newly-arrived immigrants (both EU and non-EU), but quite often also to Estonian returnees (compatriots), who even though being Estonian citizens, need assistance in a few areas during the return-process. For the different group of movers, there are also different and sometimes very diverse sets of drivers and barriers on their movement, but some general trends can nevertheless be identified based on the newly collected data and previously conducted studies.”
