The Dutch research amongst young EU citizens moving to the Netherlands shows that the main motives for moving are economic, financial and personal. Depending on the nationality, push factors (e.g. unemployment in home country) or pull factors (e.g. career opportunities in the Netherlands) play more or less significant roles. The young movers encounter bureaucratic obstacles when settling in the Netherlands. They overcome these obstacles by taking recourse to their personal networks within the different European communities in the Netherlands.
